EFTPOS & Cashless

Dimension will operate a digital currency for the 2020 event to ensure speed of service, increased security and ease of transactions at the many bars, food outlets and vendor stalls. Most importantly, there will be reduced need to wait in lines, and no need to count out coins for a beer as your friends get thirsty for your round!

When you arrive at the festival, your ticket will be swapped for a wristband which must remain on your wrist for the duration of the event. This wristband will act as your ‘digital wallet’ within the event site, as well as your ticket for remaining event days. You must not remove the wristband or your ticket will become void.

After entering the festival, you will be able to load currency onto your wristband using either cash, debit or credit card at one of our top-up tents, or via a roaming top-up operator. A one-off activation fee of $4 will be charged to you the first time you add funds to your wristband.

All food, drinks and merchandise purchased at the event will need to be paid for using the simple, tap-and-go wristbands.

Can I use cash to pay for food and drinks if I haven’t uploaded anything to my wristband?

Dimension is a cashless festival. In other words, to buy food, drinks or merchandise at the event you will need to use funds that have been loaded to your tap-and-go wristband. Cash WILL NOT be accepted by vendors at the event.

What is a ‘cashless festival’? How does it work at the event?

When you arrive at the event, your ticket will be scanned and swapped for a wristband at the front gate. This wristband needs to remain on your wrist for duration of the event.

Once inside the event, you will be able to load funds onto your wristband using exact cash or credit/debit card. Look out for one of our top-up tents or friendly top-up staff who can help you do this.

Once you have loaded funds onto your wristband you can visit any of the food, drink or merchandise vendors on-site. Let them know what you would like to purchase and they will scan your wristband in order to deduct the correct amount - and then it’s time to enjoy your purchase!

How much should I load onto my wristband?

We would recommend loading a minimum of $50.00 to your wristband at initial top-up in order to maximise your experience at the event.

How do I know how much I have left on my wristband?

You can simply ask any vendor or top-up staff member to scan your wristband to see how much credit you have remaining. After each transaction, the vendor will also show you the balance you have remaining.

Is there a cost to me?

In order to make use of the awesome benefits that cashless provides (mainly shorter wait times at the bar for you!), a one-time activation fee of $4.00 will be deducted from your initial top-up.

So if you add $100 to your wristband the first time you top-up, you’ll have $96.00 left to spend. Each consecutive time you add funds to your wristband, 100% of the funds you add will be yours to spend at the bar!

Please also note that all card transactions will also incur a 2.9% surcharge.

What if I don’t spend everything on my wristband? Can I get a refund on what’s left over?

Yes you can! Make sure you hold onto your wristband after the event and head to the event website between 9th Feb and 31st Feb to claim your refund.

You will be required to create an account using your name, email address and phone number, as well as the RFID number printed on the back of your wristband. Once logged in, you will be able to access the CLAIM REFUND section where you can enter your banking details.

Your refund will be processed back into your bank account within 14 working days .

Please note, if you have less than $5.00 r emaining on your wristband, this refund is unable to be processed.

At the Festival

Dimension 2020 is going cashless! There will be a number of top up booths around the festival for you to re-charge your wrist band. See the Cashless page for more information

There will be limited Wi fi available at the festival, you can purchase data packages from the Info Booth. You will also be able to pre-purchase Wi-Fi with your ticket shortly.

Food will be available on site for very reasonable prices from the market area. We will have coffee, smoothies, burgers, pizzas and a variety of vegetarian options.

If you are a vendor and you are interested in being a part of Dimension, head over to our get involved section.

Or, you can visit the Info Booth for general questions, WIFI purchases, wristband top ups and more. For anything else, you need please see the friendly event team.

FIRST AID

We will have a 24-hour medical service available on site. However, if you have specific mediation that is required then please bring it with you. If your medication requires a prescription, please ensure your medication is correctly labelled by a healthcare professional before attending the festival.

SECURITY

Our security team is there to look after you and be sure you all have the best experience possible , and that means ensuring we respect each other.

If you should require help from a security guard for any reason please don’t hesitate to find one of them or a crew member and we will ensure that you are looked after.

FIRES

As it will be mid to late summer it should be warm enough, fires within campsites are strictly prohibited as there is a total fire ban. This is mainly due to safety issues as well as the effect on the land, which is a pristine farmland property.

RUBBISH

Dimension is a leave no trace event. We are fortunate to have the most beautiful festival location in New Zealand, so please respect the environment and the festival and keep your campsite tidy.

This means when the festival is over it's important to take home everything you brought with you, or dispose of items you do not want in a responsible way.

We will provide rubbish bags that need to be taken to the drop point.

FESTIVAL ENJOYMENT TIPS

  • Stay hydrated

  • Be aware of the sun. Put sunscreen on during the day (even if it’s cloudy) and reapply if you take a dip in the river, a shower or after 4 hours (whichever comes first)

  • Consent. Respect other people’s bodies and space.

  • If you see someone sleeping in the sun, check on them and wake them to keep them from getting burned.

  • Get rest. You may not want to miss a thing but the experienced festival-goer will tell you that you’ll enjoy the festival more if you get sleep.

  • Dimension is a week long experience. You will have plenty of time to celebrate and have fun so make sure to take it slow, enjoy the middle way, never lose control and stay bright.

  • Behave consciously and responsibly.

  • Going for a swim? Be sure to take a mate and keep an eye on each other.

  • If the weather takes a turn, keep an eye on the river and think about your safety before jumping in.

  • Communication is key. If you’re not feeling well make sure you tell someone and check in with the medical team available 24 hours throughout the festival.

  • Respect yourself, your fellows and the festival site.

The Aftermath

Leaving

The time has come to leave the pristine valley and travel back to reality. Be sure to have a solid plan of who is the designated driver back to your hometown and that they have had adequate rest. It's a great idea to have a back-up driver planned, just to be safe.

Once you've made it to your destination, make sure you get plenty of rest (in a real bed), drink lots of water, take your vitamins and try to fight off those post-dimension blues. The blues will pass, and that's when the excitement for next year begins.

Re-Integration with Reality

Part of your festival experience is processing what you have learned and integrate it into yourself. We highly recommend taking a few days to relax and recover if possible, with time to reflect on what you have done - it surely eases going back to work.

FAQ

+ IS DIMENSION R18?

Yes. Dimension is a festival with loud music and a licensed bar - as a result Dimension is R18. Photo ID is required to enter.

+ CAN I BRING CHILDREN?

We do not believe the festival is a suitable environment for children and we do not allow anyone under 18 years of age into the festival. So book your baby sitter now!

+ CAN WE SWIM IN THE RIVER?

Of course! The river right next to the dancefloor is amazing to swim in and leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Please swim only during the day and in the designated swimming holes, the rocks are slippery and we want you to stay super safe. Please do not use chemicals (soaps, lotions, etc) that might pollute the river. We kindly ask that you only use organic & eco friendly products to preseve the beautiful land and widlife.

The water from the river comes down from the hills nearby and although it is crystal clear and clean we would advise not to use it for drinking water.

+ WILL DIMENSION RUN IF IT RAINS?

Dimension is an open-air event run in a rural location. Whilst we will expect for sunny days and cool nights, Dimension will run in any weather, regardless if it’s rain, hail or shine. Be prepared for all weather conditions and ensure you bring warm and wet weather clothing. In the week leading up to the festival we will post weather updates on the event page. We will ensure that the access and roadway where you need to park will be metaled and can handle any weather.

+ IS THERE MOBILE RECEPTION?

There is no mobile reception on site except for Vodafone at the front gate. We will have WIFI available for purchase from the Info Booth so you can snapchat, contact your mum and let your friends know how out of this world Dimension is.

+ CAN I CAMP BY MY CAR?

You will need to purchase a “Vehicle Pass” to access the allocated vehicle camping area in the general campground. Here you can sleep in your car, next to your car or inside an RV or campervan while still being right up close to the action.
