MTM

MTM (aka Matt) grew up in New Zealand, immersed in the Auckland punk scene. He always had a passion for music, and started playing drums in high school; he then played in various amateur punk/hardcore bands.

In 1998 he moved to Japan and discovered Tokyo’s exciting club scene. In 2000 he made his DJ debut spinning UK Hard House and Trance and played regularly in various clubs in and around Tokyo and at outdoor festivals. He became a resident DJ at the Hard House event BurnUp in Chiba City, and then went on to being a resident DJ at Club Atom in Tokyo.

In 2005 his music style evolved to Full-on Psychedelic Trance, and with it created DUSK til DAWN-Psychedelic Trance Party or ‘DTD’ at the now legendary party venue known as Raver’s Café.

DTD rapidly gathered steam, and being a monthly event was a stomping ground for Psychedelic trance DJ’s and party go-ers nation-wide.

In 2008 DUSK til DAWN hit another milestone debuting at Japan's world-ranking club, Club ageHa and continued in popularity by hosting many famous international trance artists.

MTM now lives in his home country, of New Zealand where he started the Auckland Psychedelic-trance event Trancevaders in 2016. Priding itself on doing trance events in classy and interesting venues, this event is now running at full-steam and has a healthy following. In 2019 Trancevaders was held at the top of Auckland's SkyTower and in 2021 Trancevaders held Sonic Booms rave in Coromandel.

The experience of organizing 70+ events in Japan and NZ - and playing at hundreds more - has meant that MTM has fine-tuned his preferred sound, and he plays his sets with a heartfelt, inspired journey....
