ROB WARNER
With over 30 years as a DJ, Rob Warner has built a career quite different to the norm. Known for his unique blend of New York, Detroit and ethnic sounds, and pursuit of strange, hypnotic music, he has performed regularly at some of NZ’s best clubs and events.
During the 1990s he held residencies at two of NZ’s most influential nightclubs, Box and Redzone, playing extended sets spanning tribal house through to minimal techno.
Rob's distinctive sound saw him become the support DJ for Global Underground and Renaissance brand tours to NZ. He's support artists like Deep Dish, Carl Craig, Sasha, Nick Warren, Steve Lawler, Danny Howells, Satoshi Tomiie, Stacey Pullen, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinenberg among others.
Since the 2010s, Rob has been a fixture at NZ festivals, including a long-running residency on the main stage at AUM New Year's Festival.
With no hint of slowing down, Rob is still in-demand as a DJ and is a Music Advisory Board member for Auckland City of Music, part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
His productions include remixes for Grammy-nominated artist Danny Tenaglia (with fellow Kiwi Shaveer), local legends Dub Asylum, and compilation mixes for Ready Mix Records and BMG Music.
