Victim
Victim (aka Tim Riley) is a force within the drum & bass world, known for his relentless energy and boundary-pushing soundscapes. His journey began in 2008, when he was first captivated by the hard-hitting beats of legends like Phace, Misanthrop, Noisia, and Teebee. Inspired by the heavyweights and influenced by iconic labels such as Subtitles, Vision, and Shadow Law, it wasn’t long before Tim was behind the decks, spinning records and immersing himself in the culture.
By 2009, his passion evolved into production, and Victim's music soon started making waves in the scene. His first major release came in 2014, when his tracks began to surface on respected labels like Neurosense Audio, Transmission Audio, and Optimus Gryme Recordings. This was the year Victim’s sound truly found its footing — dark, intense, and irresistibly atmospheric.
One of the standout moments of his early career was his collaboration with long-time friend and fellow producer Dose on the track "Scourge," which was released as a limited edition yellow vinyl sampler as part of Dose’s Mind The Future album on Commercial Suicide. Since then, Victim has continued to push boundaries with dancefloor-shaking collaborations with Dose, solo EPs on Citrus Recordings, and a coveted spot on Noisia’s Vision compilation series, featuring the track "Alien Trader" ft. Njin.
The years following 2014 have seen Victim solidify his place in the upper echelons of the scene, with releases across labels such as C4C Ltd, Bad Taste (under his alias Instinkt), ProgRam, Red Light Records, Kill Tomorrow, Terra Firma, Lifestyle Music UK, and T3K Recordings. His sound has continued to evolve, embracing a diverse range of styles while staying true to the dark, driving energy that has become his trademark.
As of 2024, Tim is more focused than ever, honing his craft and refining his unique corner of the drum & bass world. With support from heavyweights like Noisia, Magnetude, Mefjus, Emperor, Billain, Nymfo, Kyrist, Maztek, Joe Ford, Klute, Dose, and Instinkt, Victim’s rise shows no sign of slowing down. The next chapter is set to be explosive, with major releases and collaborations on the horizon.
Watch this space — Victim is just getting started.
